The photographer will have deadlines to keep therefore you must be reliable and trustworthy. It might be useful to have your own transport but this is not essential as you could use public transport. Learning what types or photo shoots photographers organise and what requirements and information they may need will help you to anticipate what will be needed when you are researching a location or venue.

community. Photographers can then contact you directly by e mail with details of information they require. If you like we can keep your e mail and only pass this on to people who have contacted us. A phone would be useful to keep in touch with photographers especially as there requirements may change slightly up to the day of the shoot and their arrival.

The photographer may have researched a venue or location for their photo shoot so they may only require you to check out the facilities and give up to date information. Any expenses you have such as local bus fares should be paid by the photographer in addition to the agreed price for your research.  If you don’t think you are being paid fairly for your time and information then contact us and we will see what we can do.

You will need to keep accurate record of your expenses and get receipts to show the photographer. Also keep a record of the amount of time you spend working on the requests you get  from them. The photographer may be able to send you a small advance payment to help with any minor costs that you have.

The photographer will usually make payments to the venue direct so you will not have to worry about this. It is generally recommended that you pay for the facilities you use once you arrive at the location. Only small deposits should be paid in advance.

If you do a good job, the photographer will be able to recommend you to other photographers to help you find more work.
